The White Rose Resistance (WRR), where Zacharia sat on the board until February, is best known for its anti-abortion disinformation, harassment campaigns against providers, and for collecting the country’s worst extremists. The group’s national outreach director AJ Hurley, for example, was charged with felony stalking of an abortion provider in San Francisco in 2022. Per his own bio, Hurley is also connected to the woman who was found with multiple fetuses in her home

So yeah, y’all hear that? If you get pregnant and something goes wrong and the fetus does at any stage, you die too.

Go fuck yourself bitch. Your whole administration needs to be in jail.

I started to consider how its possible to end up with someone this bad as press secretary.

    Is it:

    • No one with competence wants to work for this administration
    • Someone close to her bought Trump’s crypto
    • they purposely put someone who is incompetent there as a “fuck you” to the press

    All of the above?

The death penalty isn’t even commonly applied to one-off first degree murder convictions. It normally takes some other factor such as torture or multiple killings to escalate it to death penalty.

Even if you think abortion is murder this is detached from reality.

Ehhh, I kinda have to push back on this a bit here. I’m 100% on board that this lady is a wacko and monster, and that women should be able to abort as many babies as they damn well please, to be clear. It’s just that from these peoples perspective it’s a baby right? I’m pretty sure someone murdering a newborn would be treated more harshly than a typical murderer. So if we are looking at it from the weirdos perspective we have to look at it as a baby murder. Not just a normal murder. Now I might be wrong about the specifics of baby murder. I’m no lawyer. But I thought it relevant to bring up.

There was recently a mother that killed her 3 kids, admitted to it, and was likely going to a mental institute where she would have been able to be released within months. It’s not that uncommon to hear about a college girl that kills her baby shortly after birth as a way to try to escape the reality.

I’m not that informed on the subject but I would be very surprised if death penalty was ever given for a single instance of killing a baby. Death penalty isn’t even legal in many states although that’s a separate controversial issue.

Pretty much all of these examples included additional crimes such as rape, multiple murders, etc. which was my point

The two that don’t were later overturned.

Did you read the article? Maybe spend more time doing research than writing a comment… Or better yet at least read the comment you are responding to first.

I will soften my position from “ever” because that includes some of the archaic shit the US did in prior centuries. A better articulation is that they have done any recently

Did YOU read the article? These are the laws in these states that specifically state what the aggravating circumstance is.

              Ohio

The offender in the commission of the offense, purposefully caused the death of another who was under thirteen years of age at the time of the commission of the offense and the defendant committed the offense with prior calculation and design

              Oregon

The victim of the intentional homicide was under the age of 14 years old

Literal actual extremists fill the government and yet when someone says “maybe our tax money should go to pay for healthcare and education” they’re branded an extremist by practically everyone (Republicans, media, centrist Dems) and they rarely make it into government… Actual violent extremists who want to take rights away and literally put people to death get elected and/or placed into government, but people who actually want to help us are deemed “too far left/extreme.”

Their delusional answer to that is ‘that’s not an abortion’. Despite there being no medical difference in the procedures done, and in fact the record in your medical history is going to say ‘abortion’, because that’s what it fucking is. But abortions are done by evil people who murder babies, so their righteous medical procedure wasn’t an abortion.

Yep. I’m actually surprised that US prohibition ever ended because apparently it was pretty easy for white peolle to get a prescription “for medicinal purposes,” meaning prohibition was just for poors and blacks. I guess alcohol is big business and the corporations got tired of watching the mob take it all. It’s the only explanation that makes any sense.

They do not respond to this logic. The hypocrisy is the point and they consider this hypocrisy good. If you kill, you’re a murderer, have rejected the Lord, and deserve death. Do not waste your breath trying to explain the ethics of the death penalty to someone who supports it because of sheer bloodlust.

If you ask, “What if an innocent person is inadvertently found guilty, executed, and then later exonerated?”, that will not register to them as a valid concern. They think it’s worth it and you are wasting your breath by asking. They believe in a God who ordained a commandment against killing, while also commanding genocide. They think the Creator of the Universe and therefore reality is just like that. It can’t be wrong. By definition.

I wonder if they would respond to the logic that they are playing god. They think it’s fine to do God’s job for him, for them to judge and mete out his punishment in this life, far before the real “judgement day.” That’s awfully presumptuous, considering that’s God’s job and the Bible even says “leave it to me, do not attempt.”

“Death to all those who oppose my worldview, because they are a threat and must certainly view US as a threat to THEIR worldview” - the problem with multiple fundamentally different worldviews existing

This is a topic in philosophy. You define what’s moral and immoral, and then you realize that sometimes your moral code must be broken for exceptions. Here’s an example:

      Killing is immoral.

      Gay is immoral.

Killing gay is therefore good. Why? Because my religion says gay is immoral and I want to get the good ending (afterlife).

Which is why religious people are all fucking scary to us queers, because we know that fundamentally they’re playing by different rules. Even the "good ones"are still playing by the same rulebook, and since they all pick and choose what rules they follow and when… There really isn’t a social contract that we can trust anymore.

Which puts us atheists in a weird place where we have to just have faith that we won’t be fucked over or murdered by some messed up person. And that faith is now non-existent because it has no basis in reason anymore because of this exact shit. There’s more pattern recognition in having faith that BAD stuff happens because of religious people. Therefore, religious people are bad people. Yes I know there’s nuance, but that collective cognitive system is stressed trying to exist in this shitty society where about half of all voting adults want any and all bad endings for me and anybody that helps me in any way or anybody like me or anybody that remotely agrees with me.
