2·2 days agoYeah, I can see that. Sort of my issue with the EV Mustang. It isn’t just an EV version of the Mustang. It’s a completely different car. Just call it something else. Maybe a different horse breed.

I tell certain types “I don’t follow politics” when I believe that my politics will be problematic to them and I don’t want to hear about it, but the other way around from what you’re describing. The people I have to deal with have started shouting at me when I simply give a different perspective and have no chance of budging in their views at a 5 minute conversation wont override the hours of fox news they watch everyday. I live is a somewhat small community, so not only do I need to worry about these types no longer patronizing my family’s business, I also have to worry about my truck getting vandalized. I’ve actually heard one of these types proudly proclaiming they want to get into a fist fight with climate scientists.

16·10 days agoBig events are irregular things with hot, fresh food, so it doesn’t surprise me. It would be nice if the food could go to a food bank, but that one would be a logistical nightmare compared sending a regular, but small amount of baked goods from a local grocery store to a local food bank.
Yeah, there’s solutions to this problem and the idea that all of them don’t do this a failing of the store’s management.
France had to pass a law that banned food getting thrown out that could be given away.
I also noticed that Costco started offering more prepared chicken foods after it became more well known that their cheap rotisserie chickens would fill dumpsters at the end of the day.
They’re both. It’s a deadly combo.

4·16 days agoThe amount of heat is going to be negligible for the ocean, especially compared to a permanent structure pumping heat into the ground or a neighborhood. I’m more worried about how they’re powering the things. Probably some fossil fuel.
11·16 days agoRobert FUCKING Moses did not hate cars in NYC. He also didn’t drive himself anywhere. He did office work while being chaperoned around.
I have to drive a delivery truck though NYC on a weekly basis. I have a deep, seething hatred of Suburbans and Escalades.
I’m sure there would be videos of civil rights activists and anti-Nazi Party activists being dragged out of their respective town halls if cellphones existed back then.
This shit has been going on for decades.
Sports team fans have always been a weird thing to me. Love the sport? Sure, but caring how a team does that you have no influence over is weird.
