Is “digital amish” meant to be a pejorative of some sort?
They say it like it’s a bad thing?

Glad I got out two years ago. Never going back.

And yet, you knew what they meant.

They want more babies, but don’t want to pay anything for it, hence the laws restricting contraception and no support that would potentially increase taxes.
But, the question is, why do they want us to have more babies? And, yes, I mean even specifically white babies. They’re hell-bent on replacing workers with machines. More angry people banging at the mansion door seems like a bad idea.
I don’t think billionaires are particularly smart.

Yes. Insulation helps in both hot and cold environments. I live in a desert where it routinely hovers around 100F for three months out of the year. If my house weren’t insulated I’d bake. As it is, I don’t need an air conditioner, I do fine with just a fan, and letting the house cool off at night. The house stays around 80F for most of the day, until the late afternoon.

Everyone was mad at them for firing Colbert, so they aren’t going to watch whoever replaces him. They know that, so they gave the slot to Byron.

See Xbox. Also, Byron Allen got Colbert’s time slot.

Any mistakes that show up in what I write are honest mistakes. I make an effort.
I’ve used two hyphens as an en-dash for many years. As a graphic designer I had a macro that converted two hyphens to an en-dash, and three hyphens to an em-dash. I’ve noticed that I need to escape the hyphens for them to not be converted to a single hyphen--so, that’s what I do.
I don’t want to use actual en (–) and em-dashes (—), because they are associated with AI now.

Fuck you, Thom Tillis. I have zero respect for you.

I doubt this was only about the CP, they wanted to take him down for some other reason, probably pissed off a billionaire. Possibly, he was even framed.

Because all of their customers were clamoring for such a “feature”?
Of course, it will have the option of being “turned off”.
I mean, we’ve all long suspected our phones are listening to us anyway, why not make it into a “feature”.

How about a phone for people who aren’t addicted to them, but want the basics without being spied on?
Things I want in a phone:
I don’t do anything else. Mostly my phone sits on my desk, ignored unless it makes a noise at me. I take it with me sometimes when I leave the house, but sometimes I don’t bother--not addicted.

xenophobic propaganda
It has nothing to do with xenophobia. You’re right, obviously this will benefit all billionaires, especially those under U.S. jurisdiction. But, the reason for calling out Mexican cartels and Russian oligarchs is to never imply that U.S. billionaires are Bad People. It’s the same reason they’re the only ones who are ever mentioned in this context, to misdirect public ire.

For all billionaires, not just Trump.

But, “Everything in moderation.”, and “The dose makes the poison.”
Go ahead and counter with this ancient “wisdom”, then continue to drink. It’s your body, you don’t need to justify how you abuse it to anyone.

Several Bible scholars who reviewed the proposed readings at the request of the Houston Chronicle criticized the list for its exclusion of other religious scriptures, use of translations that they say have been discredited, and a selection of texts that some say are used only in religious settings rather than academic ones.
I’m all for more people reading the Christian Bible, it’s the best way to turn people Atheist.
No reason to put that in quotes.
