The US Army Garrison Bavaria removed references to German food banks and other discounted food provision services from its "shutdown guidance" web page.
The German government said in October that it would take over the payment of some 11,000 local employees at US military facilities as a show of good faith, anticipating repayment when the shutdown was resolved.
What about this? Hoping to get the money back from the current administration seems…naive…
True, but as a German, I would rather have them fed than starving, even if it’s on my money. If this would continue for too long, we would have to think about closing those facilities. But let’s wait and see what happens.
As a fellow german I say let em rot and have private donations take care of them.
The people may be our friends, but we shouldn’t show compassion towards the united states.
