Their terms were written to allow them to refund less than the purchase price by refunding the current price instead of the purchase price. You buy SSD for $200, a year later the model is reduced to $150, they refund you $150. They haven’t changed those terms, so they are violating their own contract by not refunding at the current price.

Ooh, a gcode generator in Grasshopper?! I never thought of that.

“We know they’re going to make a lot of money during these events”
I am not connected with that stadium, but I am connected to some of the others involved in the tournament. We don’t know if we are going to make any money. FIFA claims the games are all going to have max attendance, which means we need to be stocked/prepped/staffed for that, but it’s likely a lie. They also have made a bunch of weird demands that increase costs.
FIFA is structuring everything so that they make a ton of money no matter what. That’s all they care about.
That said, this sounds like it has more to do with the security protocols than it does pay. There’s nothing the employer can do about it and I don’t think FIFA cares.

Go read the Wikipedia page. It’s silly.
I have no idea if it’s a realistic depiction of what qualifies or not, but practically any skull used in a vaguely militaristic context qualifies under its description.

According to Wikipedia, nothing distinguishes a totenkopf from other skull symbols, with or without bones behind it. Poison symbol? Totenkopf. Punisher logo? Totenkopf. Skull with a bullet hole in it? Believe it or not, totenkopf.

If your religion requires premarital sex, you can argue that. Freedom of religion and freedom from religion are not the same thing.

The logic of free speech applying to corporations is that they are an extension of their operators, making restrictions to them effectively restrictions on the operators.
This is way more wild. This gives corporations people-rights distinct from their operators.

That’s the fatal flaw with AI. If you can replace the base-level workers in a skilled field, competition will lead to most places doing that. 5-10 years later, the industry has a shortage of mid-level workers.

if it was perfectly crisped, you wouldn’t be able to fold it in half.
NYC-style pizza has one thing going for it: it’s genuine fast food. It’s on par with other fast food.
Nah, opinions of them have been sliding for a while. The software licensing stuff is just a topic that attracts certain vultures, making coverage suddenly explode.

Updated means you changed the title and it said something else before. Given that the reporting everyone is seeing states the opposite of your title, adding UPDATED to it implies that this is newer information, reversing the previous reporting that it was allowed.
You’ve made the incorrect-title problem worse.

There’s true currency inflation, which is dangerous to revert, but this is really talking about cost of living increases driven by tariffs and commodity pricing. Those can absolutely go back down without being a disaster for the economy.

Intercept isn’t the right word, but what they are doing is shady. The Bing search result for “Google” has results pushed down until they are nearly off the screen. They place what looks like a Google doodle (exploiting the fact that Google replaces their logo all the time) and a search box in the middle of the screen. It tricks the inattentive user into thinking it did what they meant for it to do, while still keeping them in Bingland.

The new law basically says “We don’t care where the user appears to be from, you have to assume they are from Utah”. Blocking Utah doesn’t help.

He wasn’t tricked into kneecapping her campaign. Her campaign was being kneecapped by ratfuckery and he was trying to soften it.
Republicans handed something to the FBI that would force them to reopen the case, knowing that it wouldn’t show anything new, just so that they could then wail about the FBI keeping it quiet to help Clinton.

I have the Libra 2 and love it. Nice thumb rail with page-turning buttons. Doesn’t need jailbreaking to install KOReader or do whatever else I want.

The claim that they are doing a clean-room implementation is bullshit. The only way any of these models are able to make any working code is by being trained on every bit of code that could be scraped from the internet. Unless the project you are cloning was released after the model was trained, it was trained on the code. It may be a tiny fragment of the training data, but it still saw it.

I haven’t used RCN/Astound since COVID, but they were pretty decent before then. Far better than Comcast.
Yeah, you used to get to know the players and come back to certain servers because of the community around them. There was one TF2 server I played on for a while that had a guy who played exclusively melee Heavy with extremely throttled Internet, causing him to teleport around. You don’t get guys like Magical Fisting Heavy anymore.
