They enshittified the search so now using the chatbot is more useful. The search just returns slop and even fake slop forums.

The Free Software Foundation is actively working on this (reverse-engineering Android proprietary blobs, see Librephone project). It hasn’t even been a year yet since they began, but I’m rooting for them.

Because they are manufacturing consent for closing the platform, calling installing apps from other stores “sideloading” and hiding the options behind “SUPERDUPERDANGEROUS” warnings, making you wait 24h for literally just installing software on your own phone. They know 99% of people won’t even bother. It’s obvious what they want to do, this is a step back because of the outrage, have no doubts that they’re gonna keep pushing it

If I had to change phones now, I’d get a second-hand/refurbished Pixel and wait until the motorola devices take on. Fairphone is nice but lacks in security. The high price is only because of the “fair” small-scale production, the specs are quite mid for the price. I say this as a fp owner, I’m happy but if I had to choose again I’d go about it differently.

Choviva is not very good imo. Good enough for some cookies or müsli though, products where the chocolate content is small and not high quality. And I’m someone who is generally charitable with alternatives a la mock meat, cheeses, etc. It tastes like toasty fat.
