Having a quick look, the A15 seems like a notoriously hard target to degoogle. 🫤

This might not work if your phone still has Googled apps on it. (As I understand, OP still has them.)
As @unexposedhazard@discuss.tchncs.de already pointed out, there might be a misunderstanding of what MicroG “is”. (Or maybe you are fully aware, but it is not clear to us…)
MicroG is NOT just an app you install & go. It is a deeply embedded part of your system you REPLACE the entire Google Service stack (GAPPS) with.
In theory, it is possible to “ungoogle” an existing system and then integrate MicroG, but it needs certain technical knowhow, like hacking around with adb, rooting, signature spoofing, …
In other words. To setup MicroG “manually” is not necessary an easy task to make it work correctly. But if you want to tinker with it, by all means: go for it! But be prepared to encounter problems.
All technical info can be found on the site I linked you previously under the “installation” section: https://github.com/microg/GmsCore/wiki/Installation
However, a more convenient and much straight forward way to use MicroG would be to install a new Android System (i.e. “ROM”) that already has GAPPS replaced with MicroG. Unexposedhazard already pointed out some systems. My recommendation would be “eOS” or “iode OS”. Both of them come with a very user friendly configuration out of the box, so there is no need to tinker with it that much after installation.
Final note: Not all phones can be degoogled or flashed with another ROM. E.g. check the supported devices of the ROMs.
And what ever you do: Make backups of your data before fiddeling around with your ROM or any GAPPS. Things can break very fast. 😉
Have fun!
You should find all info on the official pages: https://microg.org/

3·4 months agoIMHO, problem with Diaspora is that they refused to adopt ActivityPub, so federation is very limited. And it certainly is not as buzzing as it was 10 years ago.

3·4 months agoGenerally, I heard Bonfire will be the “next big thing” in that space - but you are right. There isnt THE ONE, yet.
You are aware that the default Mastodon interface has a tab called “trending”?
(You might need to enable it first under “Preferences > Appearance > Discovery”.)

You Should Know@lemmy.world•YSK that you can post to Lemmy from Mastodon, and Mastodon users can interact in Lemmy threads. This is a Mastodon account.
9·6 months agoYeah, that’s the wonder of the Fediverse. One network that can be interacted with by many tools and platforms.

We might read the diagram differently, but I only see a defederation with lemmygrad.
