  • But also, why is everybody so offended by censored words here? I don’t get it.

The biggest reason seems to be that it will evade filters, which people set up very intentionally and specifically to keep these Fedi-spaces a safe place for them mentally.

So, for example, someone comes here to get away from the ‘real world’ and news and whatnot, may have a filter that blocks anything with the word “Trump”, or one I actually see censored a lot more often, “Israel”

Then someone makes a post about “Isr*el is so bad” and it sails right through their filters.

  • PS: I can’t believe they called that app Valetudo (I get it - Hygieia). Just…that word has a very different meaning in many folks brains

It’s the robot vs the dirt, a fight to the death, or at least unconsciousness or a hospital trip! 🤣

I feel like I remember hearing about an event or series called Valetudo in like, the middle east or something, back in the 90s around like, UFC 1-3 timeframe. Where like, Rickson did the majority of his fighting as far as I understood/remember. I didn’t know until today it was a catchall term! I remember my buddy telling me about how absolutely legendary Rickson was and how it was such a shame all we had in the UFC was Royce, lol. I think I only ever saw him fight once, in Pride I’d guess… likely against Sakuraba (but I’m guessing and scraping the memory banks hard here.)

Edit: AH, just looked it up, it was Takada … a judo expert iirc … yes, some of the cobwebs shaking loose now! And the “Vale Tudo” I’d heard about was a thing, but it wasn’t in the middle east, it was Japan it seems! Probably confusing it with something else that was in the middle east.

  • Noted. Will refrain from eating my headphones.

More seriously though, yeah, “can be absorbed through the skin”, fine, but at what levels? Like, seriously … we’re not talking about things we consume or things we put stuff into that we consume (i.e. BPA in a water bottle). I get it, strive for perfect and keep this crap out of our environments entirely, but this is really coming off as sensationalist clickbait to me compared to say, a study that shows people who use these products have confirmed higher incidences of cancer or something more substantial like that.

  • Proxmox.

    /thread

Anything else you want to run, you can run in Proxmox. If it’s too much hardware for what you’re doing, all the more reason to run Proxmox. You can build an Arch VM, and NixOS VM, and whatever else you want in it!

If you go with just one of them right on the hardware, that’s all you can do with it, you’re done, you’re stuck.

When you have Proxmox on it, you can try every OS! And then some! It is a superpower for learning.
