An application package is a compressed file with extra conventions. I think rpm packages are usually compressed with xz, but might use a different compression program. If I’m understanding what I’m reading correctly, rpm2cpio does some introspection to determine with extraction program to use. Maybe 7zip does the same thing, or maybe it works if the rpm was compressed with a compatible program.

With GDM it’s a gear icon in the lower right corner

You might have to learn about working the SELinux, since Fedora uses it. There are some things, like enabling custom systemd units, that require steps that aren’t needed on Debian to comply with the extra security settings.

In case you haven’t tried it, you can run Steam games in native Wayland mode, and get a more stable experience. Especially with fractional scaling. There are two steps:
env DISPLAY="" PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1 %command%

Sorry! This is it: https://github.com/nix-community/nix-on-droid

My wife is. Well, I’m stretching the truth a little - she actually uses Manjaro.
I was going to say we don’t have any of these distros in the car, but technically I do have Nix on my phone - there’s a fork of Termux that puts Nix in a user space sandbox. And the phone does connect to the car. The only piece missing Android Auto integration for the nix command.

I also have a “btw” decal to go with this. I haven’t put it on because I’m not sure about including it.
It’s me and my older child who use NixOS btw

That’s almost exactly it! Puppy Linux represents the dog, who would run Puppy Linux if anyone would think to get a computer for her

Yes, Microsoft now offers Windows on ARM (WoA). However, WoA is not a first-class citizen in the Windows world. Many Windows programs won’t run natively on WoA […]. In particular, Windows games run poorly on ARM.
Interesting news! Sadly I imagine Windows games on Linux on ARM won’t perform any better than on WoA. But maybe this will be more incentive for game developers to ship ARM builds.
The humble bragging here smh
