As much as they are making an asshat of themselves here, I fail to see how that’s relevant.

So are you starting to see the issue here, or do you think that my bike is an online platform?
Do you really think that’s the definition of that term? “something that no longer works”?
By that logic, my bike has been enshitified because it has a flat tire.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Over 97% of the 'Linux' Foundation's Budget Goes Not to LinuxEnglish
77·2 months agoSincerely, what did you expect? I mean, obviously it’s hyped right now, but let’s be real - AI is not going to go away anymore.
I dunno, I was fine with GNU Image Manipulation Program.

Linux@lemmy.ml•"The Internet Was Weeks Away From Disaster and No One Knew" - VeritasiumEnglish
12·4 months agoI guess his flavour of tainment just doesn’t jam well with me. Like I said, it’s not the subject matter, but the content just feels needlessly padded. Compare this to videos by Tom Scott, CGP Grey, Matt Parker, Steve Mould, etc. Those videos are far more dense with content It reminds me of how mythbusters gets so much better once you take out the narrator and the endless recaps…
Regarding clickbait - to me a title this one is just another symptom of that disregard for the viewers time. Being coy and mysterious about the subject matter to lure people in. And yeah, hat’s probably why it works.
I agree that the production values are incredibly high. But I just can’t stand being treated like a simpleton who needs drama to be tricked into watching videos, it feels very patronising.

195·4 months agoI feel the same way. I feel like I would love his subject matters he picks, but he’s being so disrespectful of the viewers time that I can’t stand it. Just the clickbait title alone is enough to put me off.

2·7 months agoI was gonna post a list of other things that happened on July 9 2025, but it was all kinda depressing.
The post ended with “stay tuned”. Do you have any update for us, OP?

Linux@lemmy.ml•Does it ever bother some of you that "I'm switching to Linux!" is just more of a way to appear rebellious than actually committing to the choice?English
2·7 months agoTo me it reads like “I’m going to move abroad if x wins the elections.”
Actions speak louder than words, but even then I don’t really care what you do in your personal life. Wake me if you need help or have something useful to share.

Linux@lemmy.ml•"NixOS has become a fascist project. Do not contribute to it."English
1·9 months agoFor the past half hour I tried to read into what’s happened, and who the supposed fascists are, and these are the facts I managed to uncover. I hope it will serve anyone who reads this well:
- Communities are gonna drama.
- Moderating is hard and (paraphrasing Douglas Adams) anyone who wants to do it, shouldn’t be allowed to.
- I really don’t care enough to waste more time on this.

Technology@lemmy.world•Exclusive: Google-backed software developer GitLab explores sale, sources say | ReutersEnglish
0·2 years agoTypical that the title does mention Google (who currently has a minority stake) but not Datadog, who would become the new owner.
But yeah, I don’t foresee a new owner making things better for gitlab.

Problem, possibly. Just not because of enshitification, since that has a very specific meaning.
