  • I consciously unplug from the news for a week or two every few months when I can tell it’s getting to me, for my own mental well being. I don’t think that’s burying my head in the sand. I’m no use to anybody if I don’t take care of myself also. The bad news is magnified because it’s at everyone’s finger tips, from all over the world. When I was growing up you’d get most news from a newspaper and the weekend edition would contain more far reaching stuff but for the most part it was local happenings and major national events with the rare content talking about stuff going on around the globe. Now it’s a constant shot in the arm of everything going on everywhere all the time.

  • Ghislaine Maxwells father: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Maxwell

A significant number of world leaders and influential members of society across the globe have been purposefully compromised and exploited by Israeli intelligence. Powerful people presented lavish givings and exposed to compromising situations through a coordinated decades long effort to build global control and power. It isn’t even so much that they have compromising material on Trump directly, even though they do, enough powerful people also have compromising material held by Israel that if Trump didn’t do as he was instructed then powerful compromised people across the globe would also be compelled to ensure he behaved appropriately for their own purposes. It’s not as simple as Israel having compromising material over Trump. If they release what they have the damage is done and they lose control. What gives them power over people like Trump is that they have so much compromising material about him along with other very powerful people, who will do Israel’s bidding for Israel if Trump didn’t fall in line.

  • That’s factually not true though. Side loading was a term used before Google was even a company and before devices had internet access or peripherals/accessories to directly connect media other than plugging into your computer. Before devices had internet and you had to plug them into your computer to transfer files and install non-stock software. They would just say unauthorized or unofficial software if side loading wasn’t a term. It’s not like they need that term to exist for their shit behavior.

  • This is confusing to me, which I understand is a me problem not a you problem, I just don’t understand why you wouldn’t use a different word when you say you don’t like reading the word. Saying he’s incompetent, careless, reckless, irresponsible; I don’t know what word would make the most sense but I feel like using a curse word is generally a crutch anyway. I still use them but if I didn’t like reading them I wouldn’t use the crutch. I expect academics have a preference against it because they have a more broad range of conversational words they choose from more so than finding it offensive. I have a really hard time believing an educated adult finds the word fuck offensive. I would believe people find it lazy or juvenile and would make them less likely to engage and biases their opinion of who they are speaking with, even if unintentionally, but self censoring does nothing to change that.

  • I was going to say, the only thing I spend my money on besides necessities like my mortgage, insurance, utilities, food, clothes and fuel is 3d printer filament, small stops to harbor freight a few times a year, and I guess real-debrid. I upgraded mine and my sons computers after Trump got elected then relegated the old hardware to my home lab. I suppose for birthdays and holidays I buy them steam games and Legos but I’m not going to strike to the degree I don’t provide my kids with things I have the means to provide that I wish I would have had growing up. I think school lunches and supplies would round everything out. I donate to creators of things I find valuable but I don’t think that’s the intended target of a strike. I suppose I could go without buying filament and harbor freight but by that metric I’m striking more months than I’m not already. I can’t not buy my kids clothes as they grow or not feed us. I’m nearing fifty and bought a couple pairs of new shoes recently but all my other clothing is a decade or more old. I’ll probably need to buy a bunch of bulk socks and underwear in the next year or two.
