At a glance, I’d say he hasn’t been active on Wikipedia for most of the time since confounding and has tried several failed alternatives, now after all of those failed he’s mad that Wikipedia isn’t adopting his proposed changes that he presents as apolitical but given his personal politics and that all his other projects failed, I don’t blame Wikipedia for ignoring him.

So it makes sense that GaryyTanCominator crowd would be upset that he’s not being listened to about how to run a successful project, maybe they should go back to bankrupting their own banks.
I’m not saying Wikipedia is perfect, in fact it’s currently far from it, and seems to be union busting it’s few paid staff, but this guy isn’t who to look for advice on anything.

Landlords used a common platform to price fix without communication between the companies and that was ruled illegal, it’s not quite the same but because of the way public LLMs don’t isolate inputs from users, you could argue that if any 2 users input their prices into the same platform they are engaging in collision as the information isn’t public.
Really we should just ban all algorithmic price setting.
Is it illegal if they don’t collude?
The but that makes using AI illegal is if they all use a common platform/service.

Maybe my ears are bad because I’ve listen to too much human made loud music, but it sounds more artificial than the default say command on OSX.
Oh I completely agree, I just think it’s ridiculous to pretend tipping doesn’t impact service.
Maybe better is not the right term but tipping definitely results in politer and usually faster service, there is no point in pretending it doesn’t have an impact.
And I’m against tipping culture, I’m just not in denial that it has an impact.

I definitely think we should pay a living wage to everyone and I’m working to pass that in my city & county, but that’s doesn’t mean I’m in denial about the faux friendliness that results from tipping culture or that the staff are more attentive (it’s much less common for staff to ask if you want more drinks without you having to get their attention in countries without tips than those with)
Tipping does not lead to better service.

I dunno I think it’s more likely that they know all of these companies are a secure threat but they are ignoring it for their own guys.
1·8 days agothe industry has moved beyond simple IP address checks to deep packet inspection of wireless network identifiers.
I don’t think this is a good description of what happened.
The app likely used the BSSID based location service or even did that itself with their own service.
But it renders the advice kind of useless:
- Use Cellular Data for Sensitive Transactions: - Android has the WiFi scanning setting under location services, if that’s enabled the actual connection you use doesn’t matter.
- Utilize Private Hotspots: -same
- Review App Permissions: - the correct fix.
While they cannot stop BSSID collection at the network level
They litterally can, no app installed from the app store is setting your interface to promiscuous mode & manually reading SSID headers, if you don’t give permission to use location services they can’t read use the services that translate BSSIDs into locations.
He grew up in Taiwan & Thailand so in the 60s/70s so it’s possible, not everywhere was as car pilled as the US then
That’s cool and all but I want to learn more about their culture of redacting abusive leaders with home made blunderbusts as I think that’s more immediately relevant to fixing the US.
Also impossible to get to many games by transit and the awful design of US cities will leave fans with nowhere to go to soak in the vibes.
There isn’t any difference between DSA’s vision for socialism and your’s*, it’s just NYC-DSA is building a movement on a municipal level.
A city can’t abolish capitalism on it’s own, it can however build a social democratic infrastructure that allows for a larger shift.
