I wonder how many people on Lemmy want to move to China based on what they’ve heard about it on this collective network or in their own circles. How many of those people would be sorely disappointed if they did?

That is duper depressing. Ouch. Based on the stuff I grew up on, I fully expected most adults to be scientists. Oh the disappointment as I got older.

As someone currently in sales, I think psychics know that wouldn’t work lol.

Even when someone is currently experiencing a problem, giving them the option to check out a solution for free without approaching them in a specific way causes them to immediately shut you down. Its weird, even knowing about the phenomenon I do it myself when approached with a solution for my problems. Humans are just inherently skeptical about outside help until trust is formed, and psychics, like salesmen, are already viewed unfavorably by most people.

A cold-calling psychic would have to be good at two things to win a customer; being psychic, and sales.

People are messy, but beautiful, and I think its important to remember that sometimes.

Mind throwing out a source? Having some trouble searching for other places that have experienced this kinda thing, with how fucked search has gotten. All I can find are articles about company towns, which don’t feel like what you’re referring to.

Have any of you checked out the reviews on their site? The one’s in Dutch?

Hilarious. Almost none of the reviews are about the phone itself, but the promotions surrounding it, whether its available in certain stores, and my favorite, the font on the case.

I guess the phone is so awesome they have to think of other stuff to complain about. I just want to know if the phone is good!

This guy didn’t want to do the leg work of emailing his photos to his friends, and declares self-hosting isn’t the solution to a social net? I totally see the point in community hosting, in fact I’m all for that.

But really? You don’t have to make your servers public facing, you just white-list the people you want to see your stuff and make sure to organize your drives with public and private pages.

He went through all that and didn’t take it far enough.
