Well, whatever happened to make business rents skyrocket here, it happened at exactly the same time as the big density push. Could have been some other factor since this apparently defies the physics of density, but it happened.

Might be because AI isn’t cognitive or actually intelligent. I imagine a washing machine wouldn’t do well either.

Wouldn’t more population within walking distance cause business rents to go up because of the promise of more business? That seems to be what’s happening, and I can’t see how it could be changed by “doing it right” unless they imposed rent controls. Talking about West Seattle in particular, more apartments have been built in the last 10 years than since I moved here 38 years ago.

Whatever, I’m just looking forward to the MAGA meltdown after his final Big Mac Attack, when all the rats and cockroaches will be clawing, backstabbing, and throwing each other under the bus to snag their piece of the power vacuum.

me? I’m no landlord I just get to live with moar density. Most of my favorite restaurants are gone because their rents doubled, and donuts at one of the new places are $5. Yay, density!

they must all be coming to Seattle. The city council here worships the gods of Density, and bends over backwards to give density developers anything they want. Den-sit-tee! Den-sit-tee! No escaping that for me!

Seems like this is forbidden by rule 2: No spam.

train it to do what?

LOL I wasn’t gonna get that graphic but yes.

Terrible headline. The AI bubble will definitely burst, but stocks being undervalued is not “exactly” (or even approximately) “how the dot-com bubble burst”. The bubble refers to overinvestment by overly optimistic opportunists overestimating the market, and it burst when thousands startups that failed to make a profit ran out of venture capital at about the same time. This is what’s going to burst the AI bubble - it’s just a question of when. The stock value thing, as the article itself explains (kind of), is just a symptom that investors are starting to sense/fear this getting near.

I found the headline a little confusing. Apparently as producer or director she interviewed actors for a role, and received AI-written thank-you notes thanking her for the interviews.
You’re right about the producers not wanting it to be in any specific state, but there is no city or town name that exists in every state. There’s only a Springfield in 34 states, but it’s one of the most common names.

That person was Mike Muuss, who tragically died in a car crash in 2000, only 42 years old.

Amazing how an entire age group doesn’t think and act the same tho - it’s almost like they’re made up of individuals. Who would have guessed?

People platform-independently use social media echo chambers to reinforce their own biases and suppress contrary thinking. I think it’s an attempt to find comfort zones and avoid self-questioning, which is inherently uncomfortable and involves effort.

Github was around for a long time before MS bought it.

Not me, I put in solar panels 5 years ago.

Commodore fan here, but srsly, the flip design has so much more failable mechanics than a simple rectangular slab. Will anybody buy it except for the nostalgia? I expect that will soon wear off when they realize how much they miss a bigger screen.

Don’t you worry about burning venture capital, let me worry about blank!
