that isn’t an argumentum ad hominem, they are just insulting you
i’ve played pirated cyberpunk to completion on linux using the jc141 pack
pirated games definitely work, i have hundreds of them

I haven’t tested this, but fairly sure you could just install vortex, mo2 or whatever other modmanager to same prefix as where the game is.
mostly, though mo2 at least has had pretty bad ui issues every time i’ve tried
granted the last time was ~6 months ago and there may be workarounds that i didn’t find for whatever reason but ymmv

their instance is using mbin, not lemmy

for the average person’s home pc, writing them down on a sticky note or notebook is sufficient
if someone unauthorized is physically in your house then you have bigger problems than them knowing your facebook password

Also the rise of immutable distros means that it’s stability isn’t as much of a selling point as it used to be
in my experience, most distros have become more stable over the years, closing the gap with debian
for example, i’ve only borked my arch install to the point i had to mess with it for 20 mins before i could get it to boot again once in the ~5 years i’ve used it as my daily and i’m not exactly careful with it

it looks like it’s a substandard phone with a mediocre gimmick

singular they has been in widespread use for centuries, you are fundamentally incorrect

waking from sleep
like 75% of the time it just… didn’t
tbh since turning sleep off i haven’t really missed it at all, but weird that i had that issue consistently on multiple distros on different hardware

they still do have linux builds of some games

Or are there better hobbies out there for newcomers to the hobby space? I know most of you will say do what you enjoy, the thing is im not sure what i enjoy.
well, only one way to find out! grab yourself a copy of godot engine and give making a little game a shot
there are a lot of tutorials on youtube and elsewhere that will help you get your feet wet

replace paint.net with painttool sai and this was pretty much my experience
took me ages to flip over to krita and i still miss its simplicity

mostly customizability and good support for new hardware
if you’re running a pc with no major components newer than ~2-3 years old then mint is fine
the idea that it’s “bad for gaming” is nonsense unless you’re running near-bleeding edge hardware or are exceptionally sweaty about eking out an additional couple of frames per second

pretty much every widely used distro has a user-friendly installer and it takes less time than windows does to get installed in my experience

a bunch of shortcuts
etc.

rolling release is a big plus for me, also the modularity and choice of what packages i want on my machine
it’s also not really any harder to use than any debian/ubuntu based distro i’ve used
in ~3 years since i’ve switched to arch i’ve only broken it once and it took 15 minutes to fix

the 15 minute city hysteria was manufactured by right-wing grifters on the (mostly) indirect behalf of the automobile industry which is threatened by better urban planning
the right-wing want the cameras so there is no outrage

and you can break an immutable distro by hitting the computer with a hammer
i use Sway now that wayland has got to the point that it fits my needs, before i used i3 as a window manager on top of xfce4
i like tiling
