I think we need to start holding paintball battles around Flock cameras. Just to provide the surveillance techs with some entertainment, of course.
I am owned by several dogs and cats. I have been playing non-computer roleplaying games for almost five decades. I am interested in all kinds of gadgets, particularly multitools, knives, flashlights, and pens.

Thank you for explaining that!
That sounds delicious! Now I need to find an Indian place that also serves fries.

Translation: People noticed something shortsighted and irresponsible that the Trump administration was doing, so they backtracked it and moved on to their many other shortsighted and irresponsible projects.
Things like this are yet another reason we have got to get these people out of power as quickly as possible. These things aren’t just stupid, they result in massive physical damage and they kill a lot of people.

Actually, one of the funny things about this is the degree to which Elon is obviously bothered by every little thing. He’s the richest human being to have ever lived, but he is so rife with obsessions, insecurities, and fears that he is probably less happy than most of us.

I appreciate your explanation. I had misunderstood. And I do agree with your point.

Is there anything like a rational explanation for why an area where focus and accuracy are most critical insists on working people long past their ability to function efficiently? In a sane world, there would be shorter shifts for this, not longer. (And there would be more people doing them, instead of the absolutely minimum necessary to avoid disaster.)

I like all of those. I was thinking along the lines of “The Department formerly known as Justice”. Or, taking a more direct approach, “The Department of Toddler Tantrums”.

Thank you. The attempts to normalize unacceptable behavior have been a big part of the problem.
Lying has not stopped being lying. Lying has not stopped being wrong.

“Influencer” is the first job I’ve heard threatened by AI where I think I’m on the side of AI. Reviewers serve a valuable purpose. Influencers are parasites who prey on the people without critical thinking skills.

Hypochrists.

Al Franken’s immortal quote from his time in the senate still stands on its merits:
“Here’s the thing you have to understand about Ted Cruz, I like Ted Cruz more than most of my other colleagues like Ted Cruz. And I hate Ted Cruz.”

Have you noticed that most headlines about something ridiculous Trump says (which is everything Trump says) put his actual words in quotes? That’s because the words he uses don’t mean anything in the real world. Trump can’t “expel” representatives.
Trump doesn’t know, or care, what the laws actually say. He just says what he wants to happen and hopes that it will magically happen. Or, occasionally, he will illegally use an arm of the executive branch to try to make one of these things happen.
I appreciate the press calling these out, to the extent of the quotes, but it would be nice if they would provide a little more context. Something like:
Trump Wants to “Expel” Representatives Who Threaten to Impeach Him But He Can’t

When covering most of Trump’s statements, the press has to quote parts of them directly (“take back”). That’s because no one, including Trump, knows what they actually mean.

What’s really sad is that any of this makes a difference.

There was a change to the Obtanium set for IronFox a month or so back. I don’t remember the details, but I did have to reconfigure my settings for it. It has been working just fine since then.

Now all that needs is a 16 Petabyte drive to store the database. Well, that and a buyer who wants all of that on their machine.

I understand what it was intended to mean, but that isn’t how it has worked out in practice. Other people usually end up dealing with the negative consequences of whatever got broken.
It is good to see reality force itself on people who claim it doesn’t exist. The laws of physics and biology are not negotiable.
