The Constitution does not matter. Until conservatives, specifically Trump, are stopped, they are going to be fascists.

I’m going to disagree slightly.

IMO, outlook is bloated. It has too many features that are either confusing or difficult to use. Microslop should have released a completely new mail app and given it a new providence along with modern features.

Think gmail but it would work with any email account.

Made with modern programming practices. Streamlined and zippy.

They needed to create Outlook (new). Which they enshittified.

I fucking hate Outlook. It is stuck in the age of emails being the primary source of communication in a company. Teams isn’t any better. (Give me back slack please!!!)

But let’s be clear here: we (the users) aren’t Outlook customers. Corporate IT is. And from their standpoint, Outlook does exactly what they need it to do.

I suspect that the type of people who watch UFC and the type of people who agree with fascists have a very sizable overlap.

This initiative was a conservative movement.

It would have been used as a cudgel to oppress immigrants or to target the out group.

We’re in fascism times.

Trump can legally kill people. Literally. He can point a gun in 5th Avenue and shoot someone and New York Court, SCOTUS, and his base, will all let him.

We cannot make arguments as if laws apply to this man because they simply don’t.

So when he says words like “expel”, we need to understand that he will try everything in his power, including things that are illegal to normal people like you and me, to accomplish his will.

Pre-2010 social media still had issues. It incentivised likes and views, which then social media companies capitalized (literally) and then it became a terrible feedback loop. The desire for likes/views is deeply coded in our psyche and can’t change that.

The problem is and has been humans.

Conservative logic be like: “It’s personal responsibility. If you don’t want to get an abortion, just don’t have sex!”

Also Conservatives: “We can’t have anyone look at porn! So we must make it as difficult as possible for people to view porn.”

Here’s the thing: we can’t even trust them to release the unredacted files at this point. There is no 100% truth with this administration.

If they did release unredacted files, we’d have to ask why. We’d have to ask “why now? What’s missing?”

The sad thing is that this is the alt-right goal: to erode trust in our systems. And they have fucking succeeded in spades.

I would love to see liberal states begin researching ways to banning states without violating the commerce clause.

We need more creative solutions like the SCOTUS term limits bill that has been making the rounds.

(I can’t find the article but basically a president nominates a justice and then the longest serving justice is now considered a justice ameritus or something like that. Only the 9 shortest serving justices hear and decide cases, thereby still allowing justices to serve life sentences. It was genius.)

This almost seems like a canary. If an AI bot pulls the code and submits a PR, the meow would be and indicator that AI was used.

But remember the conservative axiom:

America didn’t give Trump a second chance. That implies he was caught and convicted, and punished for something he did wrong.

He did not spend a single day in jail. His sentence in New York was effectively commuted.

He was never even charged at the federal level.

He was allowed to continue his tyranny.

Because Democrats refused to actually hold him to account.
