this is not only true when they describe the product, but their overall personality.

I’m pretty sure a sales person personality would go grumpy if they started programming and seeing all the horrors, but at the same time it’s hard to imagine for a programmer to get happy after switching to sales?

so in regards happiness, programming seems to be a dead end?

do you already have monitoring solution for your vps? maybe prometheus/altermanager and the node_exporter?
