Maybe the company should rebrand as “YellowFresh,” or maybe “HelloFlush?”

We also stopped ordering from them because of cost, and like, sometimes they just wouldn’t deliver our shit some weeks, with no explanation (even though we were promised an explanation). We’d have planned our grocery shopping around these orders so when one delivery didn’t show up, we’d have to go panic shopping and meal planning (we have two kids so meals are important).

Ultimately it was more expensive, created more stress than normal, and it wasn’t worth it at all.

Also, unless you pick your meals carefully each week, every single fucking meal was like something vegetarian or a panko-breaded fried fish. So boring and bland and tiring and time-consuming to do the breading all the time.

Oh there’s tons reasons why it never made it. The boxes they come in aren’t sealed the best and tend to fall apart. Sometimes the address is bad and gets kicked around in the system for a week. Sometimes the shipping label goes missing and there’s no other way to figure out where it goes. Lots of hello fresh ends up in the trash or donated. Though, they should be able to give an explanation as we have to document it each time.

All those reasons sound like poor routine to me. All fixable and preventable, or a poor reason altogether (like the address being “bad” — we never changed our address while using the service).

Maybe I’m not understanding, but it’s at least totally unacceptable to just not deliver, and with no explanation no less.

If there was no delivery, I’d expect a phone call apologizing and asking if it’s okay to deliver it the next day. Not just silence. They lost a whole family of customers with us. Totally crappy.
