China’s LineShine debuts at number one in Top500 – a list sometimes viewed as a national measure of global tech prowess

A supercomputer in China now outranks its US counterparts as the world’s most powerful. It is the first time since 2017 that a Chinese computer has topped a list sometimes viewed as a measure of a nation’s technological prowess.

The LineShine computer in Shenzhen displaced top-ranked US computer El Capitan in the Top500 rankings released on Tuesday. It was LineShine’s debut on the list.

China’s LineShine differs from other high-performance computers in that it runs entirely on conventional computer chips (CPUs), instead of the graphics processors (GPUs), commonly used for AI. It requires about 42.2 megawatts of electricity to operate, according to the list.

China is going to win over usa…

…I mean as the next world dominating superpower.

And with the state of America… It’s kind of feeling like “whatever”.

America flew too close to the sun.

This is it. China also has billionaires, but they aren’t more powerful than the state.
        And they know that.
They use at least a part of their wealth to support their society, cause there’s a realistic danger that they’ll lose it all if they get too cocky.

Truth. Except I don’t think it’s just America… It’s like psychopathic mindset and lifestyle that is nationless. America was just the weakest nation and got pwnd by them.

Real players of the game think above the state.

Wholly agree, not to mention the long time horizons China operates with. Compared to short term shareholder profits we haven’t stood a chance since Reagan

That’s all billionaires. They deal in short term because their lives are short term. They are parasites. They don’t care about the future of America because their narcissism makes them think they could do this anywhere. They want everything now and don’t care about the long term because they will insulate theirselves from the consequences. That’s why all of them have compounds and private security forces.
