343·7 months agoIn my local jail, it can take up to a week to be able to call someone but typically more like 3 days. This is because the phones in the holding cells are often broken, so you need to wait until after bail is set and you go upstairs, and then they charge money to make the calls. Meaning, if you don’t have an account already set up, you’re going to have to wait until someone is willing to show you how to set it up. That’s just for regular criminal issues.

Because that’s not a thing. Taking away someone’s freedom is a punishment that can only be enforced through violence.
12·7 months agoIf everyone agrees, then censorship doesn’t exist at all. Like, it’s not censorship that nobody is saying “Humans don’t actually need to breathe.” Everyone just knows it is wrong, so they don’t say that.

Wow. There was just zero reason for him to say anything. Nobody is accusing Fortnite of being unsafe for kids. And he chose to say that. For himself.

High speed rail networks. (A) Planes have to directly compete with the fares of the trains, but also (B) You have the option to skip the prime airports and go to the cheaper one 90 minutes out. It’s not a problem. People can take the train in. Look at how many airports are in the London area. It’s insane. If the airport tries to regulate your fees up, you just go to a different one.
